We are proud to announce that the STC Toronto Community has won the 2010 Community of Excellence Award.

This award is given to communities for their contributions to the Society’s goal of providing high-quality programming, resources, and networking opportunities for technical communicators all over the world.

• Your initiatives are among the most impressive in this year’s CAA. They serve to strengthen your community’s foundation, structural organization, services to members, and collaboration with information and communication technology entities in Toronto.
• Your reexamination of community council roles shows that you are a dynamic organization that strives to keep its leaders focused on its duties and responsibilities. Congratulations on the implementation of a change management strategy to track your evolving community. The Community Handbook is an excellent tool for training future leaders and sharing the workload.
• The mentoring program is an excellent addition to member services. In next year’s CAA, please report on its status and benefit to STC Toronto.
• Your president’s participation in the Technicity.ca event was an excellent opportunity to network with allied organizations and corporate leaders.
